Has Apple announced an October 2026 event?

No. As of 16 September 2026, the Apple Events page still replays 9 September: iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5. There is no next date and no invitation.

What does sit in October is an already announced store window: iPhone Duo pre-orders start 16 October and availability starts 23 October. That is a foldable iPhone shipping node, not proof of another keynote.

M6 itself is also not a rumor chip. On 25 August 2026 Apple published M6 in Newsroom and put it in the new Mac mini: 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, dual 16-core Neural Engine, up to about 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, described as Apple’s first 2-nanometer chip. What still has no product page is the M6 iMac and the base 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro.

Which products are being tied to October?

What is actually known about the M6 iMac?

The current machine is still the 24-inch M4 from October 2024. There is no M6 iMac product page, pre-order button or official color list.

Gurman’s August Power On note frames the next iMac as another 24-inch, M6 inside, possible new colors, no major redesign; an OLED iMac is years out. Will the October M6 MacBook Pro include an OLED redesign?

On the current cross-check, no. October is being used for a base 14-inch M6 in the existing chassis. Gurman has said the units were testing with macOS 27.1, whose consumer window sits near late October. That is a software rhythm, not a ship date.

The chip stack matters more. Bloomberg has said Apple may skip M6 Pro and M6 Max, keep shipping M5 Pro / M5 Max at the high end, and save the next step for M7 in 2027. The same source later tightened the window to “on sale by the end of October.” Chip talk sits between A19 Pro and A20 Pro — and A20 Pro is already official in iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, so “a newer A-series” is safer than naming one die. Two other repeated upgrades: a speaker system without holes, and more water resistance. 120Hz is not aligned across reports.

It did not appear on 9 September. If it shows up in October, a Newsroom post plus a store page is still the more common path than a second keynote. Price, storage, Pencil support and regional dates wait for Apple’s pages.

Who does not need to move plans for this window?

This is a news brief, not a buy guide. It can still say who should leave the calendar alone so three unofficial products do not freeze a quarter.
